When we were contacted by our previous clients Desmond & Kristy to capture a 2 year anniversary session which would be styled in a Great Gatsby fashion…we knew it would be something beautiful. For this reason we chose to shoot the session at a luxury boutique hotel in the Montrose area right outside of downtown Houston. The first scene would take place in the portion of La Colombe d’Or which previously was the historic Fondren mansion originally built in 1923. This portion of La Colombe d’Or created the perfectly classic feel which would fit the glamorous Great Gatsby outfits of session. We lovely the way Desmond looked at Kristy as she played a violin tune for him. The beautiful Gallery Art which decorated the walls of La Colombe d’Or along the stairs told stories of classic times of the past. The Date night Great Gatsby outfits was captured in the Bar area while Desmond was playing the saxophone for his lady love. The focal point of the Gatsby session was styling our couple in the Grand Ballroom. This historical room is one of the finest examples of authentic French Regence décor on display in North America since it’s decorated with 300-year old oak panels from the country chateau of Comte Henry Greffulhe and Princess Elisabeth de Caraman-Chimay, La Comtesse Greffulhe. In the last scene our anniversary couple was styled in the casual Great Gatsby outfits while they enjoyed a beautiful moment in the light dripped Restaurant CINQ section of La Colombe d’Or.
